Will dually fenders for a 90's generation Chevy/GMC 3500 longbed fit on a shortbed? I remember the old phantom duallys in the 90's in Truckin' magazine, and can't rmember if any of them were shortbed trucks. Been looking to build a truck and if I could find a crew cab cab, and a decent dually single or extended cab truck, I could adjust the frame length accordingly and put them all together to make a crew cab shortbed dually. I REALLY don't need or want to extra length of a longbed. Anyone seen or own a crew cab shortbed, dually or not? Just dreaming, plotting and scheming...

The fenders will fit they just look a little funny in my opinion. Her is what my old truck looked like Crew Cab short bed.

I'm almost 100% positive that GM made a factory crew cab shortbed dually. I remember I read a little blurb about them in Truckin' in the late 90's, but it could have just been a concept truck. However, I have seen one before. There is always a chance that it was a custom deal, but the truck was otherwise stock-looking.

Anyway, I second Lock, they will fit on a shortbed.

They do look a little silly though.

They probably would be a little silly with no space to the front or rear of the fenders, just going right into the back of the cab almost.... Hmmmm...

Lock,
What wheelbase frame did you start with the come up with that crewcab shortbed?

I guess it does look funny with the fenders, but that picture without fenders looks right....

Yeah, I think the fenders look way silly on the short bed....

Actually GM did build a short bed dually for 2 years, it was available in 99 and 00. from teh factory only availbe as a crewcab.

they looked unproportional as hell IMO, i would much rather do what lock did and build a 1/2ton shortbed crewcab.... looks hella clean.

I just looked at an early 90's extended cab dually (old dash style). It is rough, but I think it can be had for cheap. If I can locate a crew cab cab, is the wheelbase the same to drop the cab on and then a shortbed and attach the dually fenders off of the old longbed? I guess i need to break out the tape measure... Anyone know for sure?
Thanks,
Chad

My truck started as a reg cab short box truck and I built the frame to fit the crew cab.
