there is a type of tint that is used for headlights/taillights. its thick and made for outter use. lots of buddies have it on the tail lights of there mustangs/cobras and they make diferent colors for headlights.... STYLES Auto Enhancing does it around here ( Warner Robins, Georgia)

Do what they sayed up there it sound like he knows what he talking about.

BUT I purchased a motorcycle that everything was blackout on it the guy told me he took clear coat added a bit of black paint and srayed every lense on the bike after snading them lightly. After that he went over everything with just clear coat. It looked sick but @ night it was horrible. No way to ride in the fog at all.

when I had my SS I bought some stuff called night shades from corvette america. it leaves them really dull but you then spray some clear over it and they look pretty good.

one question. if i use the in a can stuff (just a project truck for now, dont feel like spending alot) can i just use krylon or similar clear over that for protection from scratches? i would perfer to use one of their semi-flat clears if possible. the truck is in semiflat black krylon paint. i dont care if they look totally blacked out, but darker would be alot better. thanks guys. i might just get some extra lights and try it out. i also wanna do this to my side marker lights on the fenders. ill put in brighter bulbs if that becomes a night time issue. pretty bright stuff right now though.
