OK, I saw that truck at Indy. The welds on the backhalf were awful, and generally in my opinion the level of fabrication was pretty bad. You say its because its not done? Are you going to go grind out every weld and redo them? Didnt think so. Ugly weld=bad weld. So saying its cuz they are getting ground down or whatever is a pretty bad excuse. Why would you weld the cab and box to the frame? Easier then setting up body mounts? Post some pics of the awesome fab work close up. No offense, but thats why people are calling it hack. It wasnt the worst I saw at ITB thats for sure, but it sure wasnt anything to be bragging about like you are. You want respect from everyone? Then lay it on the 24s, hell even keep it on the 22s, but do it cleanly. Otherwise its just another hacked POS that turns heads because its got some big rims.
I give you guys some credit for going out and throwing some 24s on there to show these guys it can and no doubt will be done. Having minimal camber will make a difference in the overall height of the tire and give you a bit more room to work with. I dont see whats hard to realize about that? I have no doubt that thing will be laid on 24s with a little but of work.
Weird stuff like this happens all the time. Take 4UH8RS truck for example. His blazer is on 255/30r22s and he has his rear tubs about 1" below the window. I picked up some 265/35r22s (just under 1" taller then jeffs) and they came to over an inch above the bottom of my window. Both 1st gen blazers. Both BD'd to the rockers. Do i call him out and say he's not really on 22s? No i just said to myself "well thats pretty weird" and that was that. Hell even in the front of mine with a 245/35r20 the tire is under an inch from the top of the fender, yet Jeffs 22s clear his hood (barely, but it closes, mine wouldnt even come close). Not every truck is the same, whether its supposed to be or not. You should see the weird shit you find from truck to truck. We did like 4 s10s in a row at the shop and ran into different obstacles with each one. we did 2 fullsize chevys, both same bodystyle, contitech 2600s all around with SD cups. The first one we trimmed the pocket a bit, slapped the front bags in and had a good 1/2"-3/4" of clearance all around the bag. The most recent one, I had to trim way more frame, and even offset the bag in the cup to get some more clearance. But by all logic they were the 'same' truck. It just doesnt always pan out that way.
