if u machine the center bore on the wheels you iwll be left with like 1/4 inch or less of metal to the center of the hole. which is not safe. people do it and they even agree once its done there isnt much metal left and it is not safe. but do what u want.

Right if someone does it in there back yard with a hole saw.

When i did mine i did them at my buddys work on a bluepoint and set it up to only take about a 1/4 inch or so off of the back and that cleard the hub. Not hard to do but take them to a shop they will do it usually for a 100 bucs or so. Oh and make sure you get a new set of lug nuts that center your wheel on the lug.

Dont do anything to your wheels. You shouldnt have to. I hope you didnt take my comment wrong, machine your hubs not your wheels.

James is right with the new lug nuts, dont use your factory lugs.

my buddy's hubs was grinded down on his isuzu. the truck had 1/4inch spacer in the front and the plastic inner piece of the center cap "trimmed" in the middle so the dust cap would not rub it. only reason the 1/4inch spacer is there so the escalade center cap could go on

i have his wheels now and i got the center hole machined to mazda hub size. if you got your wheels machined and you only had 1/4inch of metal left from the hub hole to the stud holes, then you fucked up. the hub is no where near that big. the mazda hubs are slightly bigger than the isuzus and mine have 1/2inch left.

ok....anyone got pics so i can get a visual of what needs to be done? i mean, i'm pretty sure i know what to do from what you're telling me. i just have the reading comprehension of like a 2nd grader.

Personally, I wouldn't touch the hubs, unless you have a machine shop do them precisely to spec. Hub centric means just that, the wheel is centered by the hub, not the lugs. So if you screw with that hub and are even the smallest amount off, it will effect the balance of the wheel in motion.

You'll need 60degree tapered acorn lug nuts to use with the eskies, or even denali's for that matter.

I've got friends with Isuzu's, Mazda's, and Nissan's. We've had both eskies and denali's, and have had 0 problems running them bored out. Few guys had their wheels bored by a machine shop, few others have done them themselves with a set of hole saws and cutting fluid.

If you do the cut properly, use the proper equipment, take your time, use the right lug nuts and keep them torqued to spec, you'll be fine.

Need more info, or to order lug nuts, hit me up: Sales@BlazinKuztumz.com

ok...i'm starting to think i should just go ahead and find something aftermarket, just to be safe. my girl's gonna be the main driver of the truck after we get it back from having the air redone, and she isn't gonna think to check the wheels every so often. anyone know the sizes i'll need to keep them tucking and clear everything?

i have to agree with scott. just like i already said, i went through this with 2 sets of gm wheels (escas and 05 chevs) its unsafe to grind on the hubs, and with the smaller lug bolts themselves the wheel can move around and the only thing keeping it center is the hub, thats why i wouldnt do anything besides having the wheels themselves machined. a machinist is alot more precise than a grinder.

it's ok to grind the hubs down if you're using lug centric wheels, which the escalades are and so are most aftermarket aluminum wheels, and all GM aluminum wheels. all steelies are hub centric
