ok, my buddy has a 96 ranger with the 4 litre engine. its bagged on 20's, but doesn't lay in the front. right now the I beams are on the frame. he has been told he has 3 choises,

dream beams or Zee the frame ornotch the frame for the I beams and tierods

what way has everyone else done it? also the oil pan hanges an inch below the crossmember. does he have to cut and weld an oil pan, or is there another stock one he can swap to?

djm beams if you don't want to notch current beams. I have heard of people notching their engine crossmember and frame for beams. I also believe you might be able to pick up a dual sump oil pan so you wouldn't have to notch yours. Don't quote me though.

i have the dream beams, and had to notch the frame on both sides for the tie rods and beams to clear. Also had to notch up under where the beams actually mount for more travel up. We didnt have to mess with the oil pan at all, but ive heard some years you do. Mines a 94 with a 4cyl.

you probably will need to do more then that to lay on 20s.

and you will most likely need dream beams because there narrower, the best bet is a yota or mustang II clip.

ya, he wants to do the yota front end down the road, This is somthing for the meantime.

i looks like notching the frame is the best bet for now, but were still not sure about the oil pan.
