i did a ranger a while back on a 27" tire....it was a pain, but i did manage to lay it out. dream beams, a lot of notching, and if you have an oil pan issue, you could always get a 4 cyl. mustang and have it sectioned (its steel where the ranger is cast)

thanks, but its a v6, not a 4cyl, so i don't think the mustang pan will work.

did the ranger you did have working a/c and abs? he wants to keep them, but theres already space issues under the hood, so i am thinking they might have to go...

get ready for a headache. its really not worth the trouble for a temporary solution, and i have a really tough time believeing its only 2" from laying on 20s with no dropped beams. We did a 94 on 20s, i made tubular bag mounts from scratch, and notched the frame on each side for the tie rods and DJM beams. Also we had to do a minor notch in the crossmember under the pan. couple pics here...Joshs Ranger Pics

if you need more email me at joel@houseofkohler.com and i can send you more detailed pics of the front suspension if you need. But my advice is leave it as is and just do the yota swap down the road. Otherwise you are opening a terrible can of worms thats not worth it for a temporary setup.

I find it hard to believe your only 2 inches from laying with the stock heater box and 20's. You can kiss those good by and look for a custom under dash unit.

the stock heater box was trimmed and modified, but still there.... but he will need more room to go lower, and theres isn't anymore left to trim, so i think it might have to go.

the ABS was moved forward to where the battery was, and the battery was moved to the back, but to go 2 more inches, it will have to go or be moved again.

looks like its layin factory xmemmbers(but that is like 2 in till the frame lays) for the 2 in needed,it will take a SHIT load of cutting. what v6 does it have? the 4.0 has the most clearance.

its a 4 litre v6

yea the one and only i beamer i did on 20s was a 4.0 liter. it had the clearance, just had to cut the shit out of the engine x member.
