methods of cab removal for SFBD

I dont have a lift or anything like that... how can i get a cab off a minitruck with basic tools and a garage....

five people, and 2 2x4's. Run the two by's inside the cab, four people lift on the planks, the fith shoves the frame from under the cab. you probably could do it with three people if the cab is completly stripped.

sweet never thought about that.. do you think 2x4s are that strong? Im sure it would be hell to put it back on though....i wonder how much on average a minitruck cab weighs? is the cab roof that strong?

hmmm i wouldnt think of a stripped cab being that heavy...new one on me

Yeah even after the cab's stripped, doors off as well, It'll take 4 to lift it without struggling. I'd rather have a couple extra than be hard headed and try and pull a superman doing it with 2 or 3 peeps.

yes. thats how we did mine, only we used 2x2 3/16 box tube. With a full interior and AC system, it only took 6 of us and I was just pretending to lift.

The way I did mine, was I lifted the truck up and set some 6" wood blocks under the rockers and laid the frame out. It split the cab from the bodymounts, and made it easy to get off. It took 4 of us to get it off with glass. Two people can easily move a cab whithout glass. But its always good to have a 3rd or 4th hand.

I had some buddies help.

Honestly my reg cab mazda was heavier than any damn cab i've ever lifted! ridiculous!

its so cut up now though I can manuever it around pretty good.

i have a sweet method of using fullsize truck scissor jacks, ive pulled 2 cabs by myself!
