easiest way is to use a chainfall attached to a rafter or tree.

use some 2X4's through the windows/doors and chain them up to the chainfall that's hooked to a tree. then start yankin on that chain. then you can roll the frame out from under the body and drop the body down on some dollies

^^^ I wouldn't trust a tree.

put one side of rockers on wheel dollies, then pick up the other side with engine picker upper. jack it up and then wheel the engine picker upper around the truck while the other side rolls on the dollies.

I ran an engine hoist (cherry picker) throught the passenger side door opening after the doors were removed and tacked a piece of 2" square tubing under the trans tunnel side to side, ran a chain around it and had my wife just help me balance it while I raised it up and just rolled the hoist back. Mine is a full size Chevy with a stick so I had an access hole in the trans tunnel. You could cut one in your truck if it is an automatic, you are going to have to cut and raise the trans tunnel anyway, just weld in a new piece after it's back on the truck. Just make sure you cut the access hole as close to the front as possible but back far enough to get the hoist hooked to the chain without hitting the dash. The front is heavier than the back if the dash is still in. hope this helps.

i had to do mine by myself...cause of useless friends...it took all day..

used 2 jacks...lots of jack stands...and wheel dollies...basicly just pulled the frame out from under the cab..then put the cab on the dollies..

done it with jacks also and then setting some jackstands i remebere seiing a guy at a show who sold this piece that attached to a cherry picker and it was designed for removing bodies off cars so i know it would work for a cab

I just took my s10 cab off. It was COMPLETELY stripped and yes, a stripped cab is HEAVY. It took 4 of us using all our might to get it up and out the back of the frame and then over to the spot i wanted it. The firewall is the heavy side. Only thing left in my cab was glass and doors!

using a chain and hoist will buckle the roof.

Like he said, i used an engine hoist too but i bolted a chain to the seat mounting bolts and had a buddy balance it while it come off.

jack the truck way up, use some heavy duty rachet straps to strap it to some rafters, then un bolt and lower the frame down from underneath. you can then put a piece of wood on your floor jack and support it while you give the rachet straps more slack, keep lowering it that way until it gets close enough to the floor. if you have the doors and glass out its 100x easier to do anything with it.

My buddy and I used to pick it up off the frame and carry it out to the driveway on a regular basis, its too heavy now with the new floor, but myself and 2 buddies picked it up last night while the gf pulled the saw horses out from under it to set it back down.
