I agree. Seems like everybody is a "fabricator" now. A while ago I went with a buddy to go look at his Mazda. It was getting 4-linked and body dropped.

I'm not going to name any names, but it was being done at a pretty well known "shop". In fact, this "shop" is doing some work for a certain high-profile person over at Mini Truckin Magazine.

Anyway, the guy acted like I was annoying him by breathing his air or something. I would ask a question, and it seemed like it was all he could do, to give me a half assed, snotty response.

Thing is, I had my C-10 at the time, and I was going to have him 4-link it. But after seeing how much of a dick he was, I decided not to.

Like I said, this guy is pretty well known now, and everyone kisses his ass on SSM, etc. Kinda irks me.

Seems like grassroots mini truckin has gone the wayside for big money, high profile work. All these people care about are getting in magazines. If your a little guy, like me, and all you want is a 4-link, etc, you're just not that important anymore.

I know there are exceptions to the rule, but thats just my $.02.

thats one of the resone that I like doing it my self. that and when your at a show and some JOE wants to know who did the work its nice to say I did it in my garage

i try to be friendly with everyone that i meet because no matter how much you no or the other person know , there is always something new to be learned.. and if your a dick then you might miss out on the opportunity to meet a cool person and learn something new. now if your goofy after i talk to you then i am allowed to be a :

when I was working on a buddys top alcahol car we were at a race and we had a older pro driver pitted next to us (who will reman nameless) Any ways thay were having problems qualifying and oh pro driver was pissed . well this kid about 10, 11yrs old came in to the pits and ask for an autograph mr. pro at the top of his lungs screams "GET THE F OUT OF MY PITS "
The kids dad was a major money man for the auto parts store chain that was his sponsor needles to say Mr. pro didn't have a sponsor the next week and with in two years he couldn't afford to race any longer

Wow, Thanks! I just saw this posting tonight, I guess I missed it the other day. I'm sorry I gave a bad impression, normally at THW, i'm running around all over the place taking pics for the site and such. If yer ever back in austin, give me a buzz and we can hang out. Normally i'm watching kids during the day and working at the shop at night.

The whole tree thing turned out to be allot bigger than planned, I was planning on going there and just doing a 30 buck tree out of my pocket just to make things as "right" as it can be. Someone suggested taking donations so since i'm not rich, figured it wouldn't hurt. With that we were able to get a 65 buck tree, dirt, mulch and such. I think there is about 10 bucks left that i'm trying to figure out if I should donate it to the family or the hotel. I was wondering since there was only 10 left if they would take it offensively that we only gave 10 bucks. What do yall think?

Sorry again if I came off bad, I tend to be a bit 2 talkative with everyone, so I dunno. My wife says I talk so much like a teenage girl. LOL

thanks phil... and i will surely halla at you next time im in austin! personally i dont see a problem at all if its only 10 dollars with just keeping it. i mean you did have to drive around to get the tree dirt etc, and thats not free. now if it were more money i would say give it to the hotel to cover some more of there losses but 10 bucks aint gunna cover shit. plus you will spend more gas just taking the 10 bucks to them. just my 2 cents though, do what makes you feel right
