1....I always tilt the rear end up a little on the side i am working on to keep rear end lube from ozzing out.
2....I use a large/long pry bar with a point on one end to reinstall the axle(its hard to lift /guide spline in without leverage)make the job easy.
3.... always replace gasket and oil seals with new ones, dont want to leak rear end lube on your new brake job.
4.... lube on contacts points,cant install dry or you will eat up new seals= leaks.
5.... check bearing for tightness with rear wheels back on and truck off the ground with large prybar under tire checking for "loosness"

this is from the factory book, I just hate them 5hitltons
I have 1990, 1998 and 1991 books if any one wants some thing
they cant find.
