what subwoofers are good sq/spl subs. any comments on eclipse, crossfire, xtant, alphasonik, elemental designs, directed, hifonics. also, what amp should i use? i prefer one sub for space, but i can deal with 2 subs. i'm looking for 500-600 watts rms. the sub/s need to be either 10's or 12's, no 15's or bigger!!! what does everyone think about the more anti-mainstream subs such as adire audio, RE, soundsplinter, incriminator. i haven't personally heard these yet, but would like to know what everyone thinks about them, good or bad. damn sorry for the long post but thanks for any input

I like JL Audio but they are more of a sound quality sub and not for really loud SLP unless you have a lot of them. I would probably go with a 12" sub for more bass.

ddaudio.com loud as shit and ra aswell.with these 2 brands all you need is one sub and I would use u.s. amps or dd amps but those amps take a lot of voltage......Hifonics has the 10,000 watt amp but I havent seen it perform yet but defently dd or re in my opinion are your best bets.....

I run DD 3500 series subs and US amps. The DD9100 and DD9500 series have better SQ than the DD3500...but the DD3500 isn't bad at all. You'll want to run about 1000watts RMS on any DD subwoofer from the 3500 series and up.

Here is my next subwoofer from RE. I've been impressed with them as well.

You cannot go wrong with DD. Have run the 9500 series with no problems and lot's of power. Be careful though, they take lots of airspace. JL is more of an SQ sub and doesn't require alot of space. Half the sound of any sub is in the enclosure, so no pre-fabs if you want the best SQ/SPL combo. Have a solid builder make an enclosure specific to the sub you choose and I guarantee you will be much happier with the end result.

alright guys, i have decided to either get a 3512 or 9112? any prices, online stores to buy one? what brand amps and sizes should i use. any suggestions on box size or dimensions? thanks guys, i am looking forward to ordering some DD power. i'm also open to any tips on hooking my stereo up(doing it myself) which brand wire, speakers, head unit you prefer. this will be my first nice stereo, so hook a brutha up.

Kind of biased here but the grand master in SQ won with all kicker equipment. Not the mention the master himself Markey Dietrich's ford probe is running all kicker equipment also. Both use L7 square subs. An L7 12 is 600 RMS/1200 Max. DD is specifically built for SPL (just look at the motor and spider) JL is known for their SQ but damn 900 bucks for a 13" sub. Of course each is going to depend on the quality of the inclosure they're in. If space is a concern, The L7 10 only requires .66 cu. ft. per sub sealed.
