i was spraying u-tech 2k build primer today and it kept coming out of the gun terribly. it splatted out and dried bumpy, but after spaying for awhile it started coming out fine. is it just not activating at first? the gun is a cheapie but seemed to work fine after awhile. i went to spray it again and it slattered again. i tried more and less pressure with no success. i tried from 18lbs of psi to 40lbs. the gun is siphon feed el cheapo but why would it suddenly start spraying fine right in mid spray? i tried stirring the crap out of it and nothing. i've never had this happen before but this is the first time i used u-tech. help is appreciated.

I would guess the primer is drying in the tip and that is what blows out at first, but thats my last post this month

im no painter but I know a handfull of things....was your gun fully clean? mixed wrong? too much hardner? old paint?

I'm guessing the gun wasnt cleaned right..try cleaning the tip of the gun and try the breather vent on the top of the cup

Probably just need to clean it more, sounds like there is something in there blocking it and making it spray that way.

the gun is brand new. and now i tried my devilbiss and got the same result, splattered for like a minute and a half then sprayed great. mixing ratio is 4 to 1. this really has me stumped.

Have you tried reducing the primer?

got the right size tip in your gun?

It's sounds like your trying to mix in the cup of the gun meaning it's not all geting reduced that's why after a few seconds it starts to spray fine once you get to the mixed part,, so always mix in a mixing cup first. I had the same thing happen to me

Could be your compressor isn't pushing enough CFM too?
