I have some questions for those that have some knowledge of baggin a caprice.

1. I want to lay it out on 20's, do I need to pull the front inner fenders or will it lay out with the fenders left alone?

2. What all is needed for the back? Will it lay out with the stock trailing arms? What about the extended trailing arms? Do you have to make a custom triangulated link system in the back?

Im lookin for the same info, im about to buy a caprice in the next few days.

It would be best to remove the front fenderwells so they dont rub when dragn. Mine already rubs them when the car hits a big bump in the road. As far as notching for tie roads I dont know, they do make drop spindles for the Impala, Caprices. In the rear to lay on twentys the wheelwells are plenty big enough, and longer trailing arms would be a definate plus. You will also have to notch the frame. Ive looked into it for a while now and when my truck is back on the road the SS is gonna get cut.Good Luck

So can you lay out with the fenders in place? I don't really plan on dragging the car so I am not real worried. I just want to make sure it will lay out when I park it.

i always heard in order to the dub you have to start all over in the back ditch the factory

You might be able to trim the fenderwell but i dont know if its gonna work. For the back you can change it all if you want but its alrady factory four linked i would just modify the length of the arms or build new ones. If thier is a problem its gonna be with the upper rear control arms.The Impala and caprices in stock form have the wheel 3/4 of an inch forward. That is why they sell lengthened control arms. If iam wrong iam wrong.

Yeah, my main question on the back is can you use the factory links to lay out on 20s. Will they allow the axle to travel far enough to lay it out? I read somewhere that the stock links hit the frame before it lays out. I don't know if that is true or not though, thus the questions. I hope it is as simple as making some replacement links for the factory peices to lengthen them and add some bags and a notch and it will lay out, that would be nice.

Have not started on mine yet. I have everything to do the front and some of the stuff for the rear. Have to finish my other car before I want to do anything to the wagon.

on my 95 wagon the front inner fenders were cut out to lay on 20's. not too much was removed though, so you might be able to run a 20 and a tiny tire and get a way with that.
