instead of rack and pinion run the stock gear box and run a mercedes electric power steering pump hidden somewhere we did that on a boat a while back it worked great real quiet and strong

no. no pics but next time the boat is in for service ill get some. it works like a normal pump it is about 12 inches tall and 5x5 in base real easy to install only needs two wires an two hoses easy to bleed quiet. its all around cool and doesn't rob power

i didnt know mercedes had electric power steering pumps ................ ima have to look into that i bet there expensive as hell though

What year Benz?

you will not have enough room for that booster under the floor, I have the smallest one you can get under my '36 and it is still too big that it hangs out from under the frame.
flattie: need some more info on the benz power steering pump. do you recall what body and year it was from?

the new chevys and fords have hydroboost so you could cob one off a wrecked one and rig it to work....just throwing that out there.

Also you can get an Ls1 for a couple grand if you look in the right spots....

i missed this thread so whats the deal with that benz pump
