ok, i'm sure everyone with a pup's ran into this. the cross member under the cab that hangs below the frame. what'd you do about it? i was thinking of building/getting one built that runs even with the frame, and notching over the driveshaft. this should work right? and would would i do with the exhaust

Not sure how your frame is setup but yes that should work. Take some tubing and make your cutouts for the exhaust and the driveshaft just make sure it supports your tranny and you should be good.

well for clarification, it's the one right at the bottom of the cab, that the driveshaft is basically sitting on there, but that's in question. i haven't got a good look at it, so i'm not sure what all exactly it supports, but figured it's a common issue with isuzus.

you can drag it flat with the concrete file, but be careful because the e brake cables pass through it and you can catch it onn something and have your rear brakes lock up! Happened to me.

Otherwise you cab just trim off the low hanging part, the muffler shop did mine with a torch while it was up in the air and fixed the problem permanently.

I personally just cut it out and put a piece of 1.5" x .250 wall tubing across. Basically flush with the bottom of the frame.
Other people prefer just to drag it until it is flush.

I cut it out and put in a 4"x4" and about 1/4" wall. Lets just say it is not going any where. and as far as the cab straps. I would make new ones. Personally I am going to use a length of steel cable and cable clamps.

i was planning on dragging that one flush, but i'm afraid it'd weaken too much. same idea when i thought about cutting it. so i figured i'd just build one, or get the shop to build one for me. found this picture on another member's profile, and this is exactly what i was thinking to begin with, unless it'd go too far into the cab floor, after i drag the stock on flush.

i'm using a bag over axle set up, with a mixture of custom and suicidedoors.com parts.
