Anyways, having some troubles with a B2200 I bought. I picked the truck up not running. The kid had replaced the cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and coil and still no spark. I went and got a wiring diagram and it turned out he had the coil wired backwards. So I went and got a new coil, put it in and it worked...for abit.Since then the truck has been on again off again. I'll start it up, it'll run for a bit then die. No spark. Then in an hour or 2 it'll go again. It ran all week whenever I started it at the shop (not on the road yet), but now today it died, didnt run for an hour or 2, then started again. A couple times it didnt start right off the bat, then it would go after i left it for a bit.So i'm getting pretty frustrated with it since I need to get it on the road this week. When it was running i played with every wire i could in the engine bay hoping to find a bad wire or loose connection with no luck. I cleaned up grounds, terminals. I'm out of ideas. Its an 88 B2200.

try to borrow a computer, i know it does that with the b2600i ones and its allways the computer.

hmm interesting. never thought of that.

is it easy to change out? just unplug the harness at the computer? I had it unbolted already when i welded up the floor but i never disconected it. There's one at the wrecker, maybe i will see if i can snag it tomorrow.

wait you say there is no spark? Replace the coil.

Its a new coil..and it works sometimes, then doesnt, then does again. I tried a coil from the wrecker and it didnt help. I dont want to keep buying coils. Are coils sparatic like that? I thought they were either working or not. Its a new coil so theres no reason it should be bunk. Its a frustrating situation. If the computer thing doesnt help, I guess It'll go to a shop.

i went thru all that once upon a time with my mazda, come to find out the ignition switch was bad, you know, where you put the key in, well any lil bump would cause it to jiggle just a lil bit and shut the truck off

OK I will try to grab the ingtion switch from the truck at the wrecker as well. I had my column open looking at mine the other day. The part with all the wiring comes off as a seperate unit...do i just need that, or do i need the key part of it too? I dont think there is a key in the truck at the scrap yard.
Also would my truck still crank if it was the igntion switch. Like the starter cranks all the time, so I would think that means the igntion switch is OK..no?
