what all would it take to put the newer front end on it? maybe even a sport trac? how close is the stuff from the 94 to the 95 or 96 whenever it changed? i'm not really feelin the box front end personally..and what would be a good choice axle-wise? did anything come with disc brakes that i could use?

the newer front end should bolt right up once if u change the core support.all 95 up explorers havea rear disc axle. we put a ranger rear end in my buddies explorer(3 in narrower) so he ride low and not worry about the wheels hitting the quaters.

will a ranger rear end hold up to a motor swap? all i have in mind is a really really mild 302, nothin special...good to know about the front ends bolting up, do you know if its the same with the sport trac?

sport trac mite, never really looked at them. yea if not you could always do a mustang rear end.
