Was it welded up solid?
Were there any gaps at all between the tack welds?
What did you use to fasten the rollpan to the bed at the top side of the rollpan?
always use DYNAGLASS or lead after shaving something so it does not crack.

we tacked up the back side and there were a few lil gaps but nothing huge.. Where do you get DYNAGLASS?? and do you lay it down after your grind your tacks?

if you dont seam seal the backside it can rust and make it pop out too. but weld it 100% too

once u put a couple tacks on it..you just let your tacks flow off eachother and fill the gap..ill guarantee this will help cure cracking ass end problems...and another thing u can do..like we did on my buddies s10..we did the rollpan so it actually overlapped the bedsides and lap welded the roll pan to them...hardly grind down any weld and its so close to the corner of the bed the small ledge was easy to make flow out...guarantee it wont ever crack out

the gap should be half the thikness of the material

I like to run a 1/4-3/8 rod across the bottom for those ocasions where you may be dragging the roll pan or maybe coming down a steap drivway. If the welds are good no glass filler is needed. Duraglass or anyother fillers will shrink or expand with extreme heat or cold. Not saying that these are bad products but they should be used in moteration
