If your going to reuse the factory frame, why not just cut the top of it off, and make new lowered body mounts? then you wouldn't have to Z it.

yes the ibeam clip has to be z'd or bottom of the engine crossmember trimmed, it held up gumps truck from layin by an inch or so.

yeah we set my truck on the ground with the new frame rails underneath it and at the time it still had the stock ibeam framerails and engine xmember but w/ no suspension. the engine crossmember will hold you up about an inch.

i think that you are make a lot more work for yourself by doing that way you want. it is much easier to cut the top off and weld in a piece of tubing then to cut the bottom off the rail. remember you will have to build new radius arm mounts, i beam mounts, engine mounts and 4-link mounts in the back. if you just do what they have been say and cut the top of and put in a piece of tubing it will be done. yes the z-ing of the rails will "fix" that but it is not something that you need to do if you cut of the top.

But arent the Ranger frames crooked? Mine lays out on the frame, but it sits wierd. Raked kind of. Lower in the front then the back. So I figured if I trimed some off the bottom and reboxed it in it would sit flat. Also, I am not going to do this to lay rocker. I want to make my truck halfway inbetween laying frame and rocker. So the rocker will sit about 1 and a half inches off the ground. So should maybe I trim just a small portion off the bottom to make it flat, and trim hte top and lower hte body mounts. And the main reason I wanted to z and cut hte bottom of hte frame was so I didnt have to make new body mounts. Im frustrated.

Mine is stockfloored with beams. I did not Z or trim crossmember. and lay out on 17's

I know. Do all hte work and not lay out. I know its wierd. But everybody has bagged rangers laying frame or body, so I figured id do something in between. Besides. This truck is not my daily. Its going to be. But as of now I have an f150 and all the time in hte world to make this truck awesome. So Im just gettin gall my facts straight and my gameplan lined out before I go into it.
