your best friend is gonna be a plasma cutter if you have one, it makes it soooooo much easier. and another tool that makes shit alot easeir is a scissor jack. when i did the bd on my buddies maz, i used it between the wheel and the stock wheel tub, kept opening it untill there wasnt a gap between the stock wheel tub and the firewall, then just welded it back up.
