I did not put a fuse or breaker between the battery and the starter. A distribution block is used for stereo shit also. The one i used had one spot for a 4ga wire in and 2 8ga wires out. All i did was mount it to the core support and ran the 4ga wire from the + side of the battery to the block and then got the power wire that comes oout of the fuse block which is 8ga and hooked it up to the distribution block. No fuses, no breakers, works fine. Its not that hard to do.

Edit: Make sure your hook up the ground from the side of the block to the frame and the one at the back of the motor to the body. Then a ground from the battery to the body (NOT THE BED BUT THE CAB).

i have my bat up front still and another one in the back of my frame and i used 0 gauge welding cable to run all the way up to my battery isolater...

thanks for all the help guys, what i ended up getting was a distribution block for the positive terminal. im going to run 4 ga. to the distribution block and have two 8 ga. lines come out. one will run to my starter and the other will run to a insulated positive relocation terminal around my core support somewhere so i can just hook up my stock wiring harness and fuse box like normal and just tighten them down with a wing nut. my distribution block came with (2) 30 amp fuses. i think my starter will take more than that so i bought a pack that had (2) 40 amp fuses and (2) 100 amp fuses. would a 40 run my starter or should i use the 100. same for the wiring harness, would a 40 run my fuse box and wiring harness or should i just use a 100 amp for both. also, on my distribution block there is a place for two fuses one for each 8 ga. line. can you mix match fuse sizes there or do they have to be the same?

ALWAYS!! use a fuse/circuit breaker close to the battery unless you enjoy your truck catching fire! a 4 gauge line to the starter, as mentioned, or distribution block up front, then distribute it from there. wouldnt run anything smaller than 4 gauge to the starter then 8 to everything else would be fine. the only high current draw off that 4 gauge to the front would be the starter during starting. 8 gauge body-cab-frame grounds will be sufficient. as far as the stereo stuff goes it would be run off the batt. like normal from the rear. so, for example, you need 0 gauge for your stereo it would be run from the batt. and not affect the 4 gauge to the front, esp if you have an isolator and a second batt. but you can always run bigger wire if you want. just my input. take it or leave it.

my battery is going to be in the bed close to the cab and i was going to mount the distribution block up where the battery used to be on the passenger side where the head light is. that general location. the only fuses that will be in the line are the ones in the distribution block. will that be fine or is it too far away from the battery? also, its on toyota pick up...the stock wire used to run to the starter i believe was only 8 ga. i will double check that though before i make the install. its only going to be a one battery system. maybe two if i decide to do a blow through for the system.

yeah you need to have a fuse as close to the batt. as possible. good luck man.
