How are you gettin through emissions???

ive got a late model S10 i want to do a V8 swap.

all the S10's out there doing this swap, how ar they passing emissions? mine is a 97, to be "legal" i need a 97 or later V8 with all the 97 or later emissions equipment. i have seen many S10's with carbs.. no way they are passing emissions inspections.is the states these S10's are in, not have emissions inspections?

i dont have a s-10, but when i lived in n.c., part of the emissions test was a window tint check...mine was too dark, but i got a heads up on a jiffylube spot where you could slide the guy(person doing all your tests) a $20, and he'd pass you. then they'd just say you did all the work to your vehicle after it went through emissions...thats what i did. just find someone that'll pass you.

In IL I just registered my truck as a show vehicle and now its exempt from any form of emmisions

James I am very interested to know how that works also. Last I heard in Maricopa County you need to have the same smog equipment as the vehicle you are registering.
If all else fails we might have to look at an address up north. Register it in a county where there is no smog test.

How do you go about getting your truck registered as a show vehicle, mine's due this month and I thought about just saying srcew it? haha

move to columbus,georgia. there arent any emissions tests here.

up north here in Ontario, you don't need emissions testing if you have an engine that was not a factory option for that year. Right now I'm getting set up to drop a Ford 302 in my 2200.

You have to bring it in... my friend went to jail for like 45 days just for not bringing his truck in... LOL... but go to the emmisions station... and ask them for a petition for exemption... they will give you the proper forms to submit....

no emissions here either.
