I am intending to custom it but can anyone tell me what the PCD? is is it 6X139.7mm? will 16 x 8 inch wheels fit under the stock arches? whats the best way to lower it normally and still have a usable daily driver?many thanksBen

depends on the offset, if your 16x8 are +50 offset or betterm than yes. If 16x8 with less than +50, no.

You can get it pretty low by using a 3 inch angled block and pulling one leaf from the rear (trim the bumpstops!), for the front you can move the balljoints from their position on the bottom of the control arms to the top (you will have to grind the lower arm a bit to let the balljoint sit flat and to allow the bolts to go in from the bottom side) and then just loosen the torion bar adjusters (truck on jack stands, getting crushed by a truck is a stupid way to die) till the front and back are level.

Hi
thanks for that, anyone else got anyadvice any ideas welcome i am willing to learn.
is the running gear suspension etc the same on my 85 truck compared to an 86 model?
thanks

the 85 truck here was completely different, but if your 85 looks like the newer body, then they should be the same.

the 85 used coil springs here, and was narrower in both frame and track.

go to www.photobucket.com, open a free account. Upload the pictures from your computer to photobucket. Then there are three posting options given under your photo once its uploaded, you want either the "a href...." option or the "img src..." option, the IMG option will not work here. Copy it and paste it here.

I wanted to see how long it took once, I was able to open a photobucket account (free), upload pictures, and post thim on a forum inside of 4 minutes, start to finish.
