FYI - if you have 380C or 480C compressors, that are designed to pump up to 200 PSI - then by all means - use them to 200 PSI. You aren't saving them by only running them to 165-180 PSI. Both of these compressors pull fewer amps at 200 PSI than they do at 165-200 PSI. By working them only to 165-180 PSI, you are shutting them down as they are going through their highest amp draw - and never allowing them to do the easier work of pumping to the 200 PSI they were designed for.

Look at the amp draw amongst the operation range, and I think you'll see what I mean.

yup im running two 380's on an 8gal tank n i got no complaints and wat Lance is saying is true,shit i run mine to 200psi like everyday
