if the subs are dual 4 ohm coils, and ur running 2 of them, u can use an amp that pushes 600 watts RMS at either 1 ohm or 4 ohm. itll be very hard to find a monoblock thats 1 ohm stable thats not too pricy. some of the alpine amps i know have a variable power supply(meaning they can push X power at either 4 or 2 ohm levels).

if you go that route, find an amp that pushed 600RMS at 4 ohm. wire the subs in series to see an 8 ohm load per sub and then parallel them to the amp.

OR... you can find a good 2 channel amp that pushes 300 RMS per channel at 2 ohm and wire each sub independently to each channel. for a visual guide, check out crutchfields wiring diagrams. they halp a lot if your trying to figure shit out

Just look 4 a amp that pushes around 500 to 800 watts rms in either a class d 1ohm stable amp or a 2 channel and that's all u need

Here this will help!!!http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/wiringwizard.asp

I would just look for around a 600W RMS 2 channel amp. This will be most likely cheaper than a monoblock that is one ohm stable.

In reference to abercrombie, one ohm stable amps are typically designed purely for competition. They are set up to handle more abnormal conditions. I'm not surprised you didn't have troubles. With normal amps you'll pop fuses all the time by running them at half the ohm rating.

I ran a 2001 Model Audiobahn 2200 ($425) at .5 ohms pushing 6-1000 watt 12's. I ran a Memephis 1000d ($400) at .75 ohms on a 13w7, and am running a 2002 Model Audiobahn 1300 ($300) at .75 ohms right now on a 13w7. Didn't and don't have any problems. Except my ears hurting LOL

try this. get a pair of dual 2ohm voice coil subs. wire them in parrallel and that will give you the 2ohm load you want.

If you wire two dual 2-ohm subs in parrallel it will give you .5 ohms.

so I could get this amp:
* 2-Channel High Performance Amplifier
* 2 x 180 Watts RMS @ 4 Ohm Stereo
* 2 x 250 Watts RMS @ 2 Ohm Stereo
* 1 x 800 Watts MAX @ 4 Ohm Bridged
Run it bridged 800 watts @ 4 Ohm.
thanks for all the help.

Yeah, that amp would work. Just to let you know though, you wouldn't be getting 800 watts out of it normally, that's the peak rating. By the looks of it you would get probably 500 watts out of it bridged. Typically a bridged amp like that puts the same out bridged as it does stereo at 2 Ohm
