im stating facts to the shit had to b wored worng like i said in the other post get a n ohm meter out an check it it takes a minute tops, most the higher end re subs r dual 2 ohm speakers instead of dual 4 ohm the re sub is a hand made sub it isnt run down an asembly line like most subs r.ill argue with u all damn day long the shit was wired wrong we put re in bout 2-3 cars a day an we aint had a 1 catch fire.i mean i can understand a amp catchin on fire but a damn sub come on people pleaz tha is bullshit.ive seen subs smoke thas it the damn amp was prob mounted to the damn box an thas prob wha caught on fire i mean y dint fuses blow or wha bc when ever they a prob with the sub or the amp the fuse is gone blow b4 anything unless he dint have a fuse under his hood.

ok the guy on the other forum tha was talkin bout his catchin on fire me an my boss where talkin bout it it could of been a number of things bc we sell a lot of the re subs an we havent had a single 1 catch fire.he either dint have a fuse under his hood,he had them wired to the wrong ohm load bc most the re subs r dual 2 ohm speakers.an tha makes them a half ohm an if he dint have a amp to drop 2 a half ohm tha will do it

I don't know a whole lot about re audio but what i do know is that wiring the amp at too low of an ohm has nothing to do with the subs catching on fire. If the amp was wired at too low of an ohm when u turn it up loud the protection circuitry will kick on and the amp will shut off and not having a fuse under the hood again has nothing to do with the subs! If a sub catches on fire it usually has to do with a malfuctional sub or way too much power applied

not alwayz it burns ur spider wires bc we have had to replace some tha was hooked up to the wrong ohm load.we deal with tha kinda shit every day

Ok well im the guy who's '06xxx caught fire and burnt my truck down. You sound like I did pre-truck burning down. I supported the company...I know David Moore, Scott Atwell...Had nothing but good stuff from them. I dont bash on the company for this happening, I was running more then the RMS but any woofer will take any power as long as the power being given is a clean signal...so was my amp sending a dirty DC signal to my sub? possibly...There so many variables that can be blamed...wiring...too much power(which is irrevelant with the exursion capabilities of this woofer) Ive had this sub running for about a month or so...I played it no longer then an hour in any situation...the problem isnt that it caught fire(theres been many cases of this) the problem is how it continued to burn and that the fire was building...My coil didnt burn it was my spider...it could have been from the lead wires sparking but note to any manufactorer make sure your product wont become a bonfire when it gets hot. Im in contact with JR(vice president of US amps, whom owns Re Audio) This has been adressed to the company, there aware...Still im not bashing the company there products are great, but this needs to be examined...I dont know if its the glue or the spider but something is flammable...Tuan(advanced car creations) who I bought the sub agress with me and has said theres been other cases of this woofer burning up easily..but they were lucky enough to put it out...Ill keep ya'll updated...here goes some pics.
