A budie of mine bought a body droped frame of another truck and put it under his s10 and when he put his moter in it sticks out of the hood alot (its a 98 with a 4cyl buy the way) i was wunderin how much can i lower the moter and section the oil pan any help would be great thanks
ya thats what ive heard but the motor dosent sit in the frame right the frame was made to have the oil pan sectioned(eric and matt set the motor and tranny realy low in the frame). how much to section i dont know but it cant be more than an inch or two.
you can shorten the pan as much as you need. As long as there is enough room for the pickup tube and at least 4 quarts of oil. I have converted a front sump to a rear and vise-versa. Just do yourself a favor and weld everything inside and out.
why would you build a frame that the motor doesnt "sit right" in? i mean, im i the only one that thinks thats a weird concept? you can lay flat rocker with a stock hood on a newer s10...4 or 6 cylinder.
