All i now about the old motor is that the stock intake was used and that the oilpan was sectioned and that the motor mounts raised up. Why it was done like this i dont know.

ben you the reason why your buddies hood had to be modified is because its a different style engine the 98 and new you can get a intake off of a 98 or newer caviler or sunfire the only thing you have to watch out for is that the cavi intake might hit the upper control arm you can get one on ebay they go for about 60 or 70 bucks you would prolly be better off with just using a different intake and not messing around with the oil pan i think

Id like to but then the tranny mount is to low puting the motor at a weird angle. if i raise it up then ive got to redo the trans tunnel ect .
