Mine had to be moved. Plates hit right in the middle of the frame rails.

funny thing i was going to ask the same since i was on the lookout for a cab/chassis rearaxle now i know the size to look for .
can anyone explain how to check the axle ratio of a rearaxle ....i've heared sumtin bout counting the rotations of the pinion on one rotation but dont know the formula for chainging that data intoo a ratio and the stock ratio's these axles come in .
wat ratio would be best for use on the freeway using a 383 small block and a T 700 automatic on 22 inch truckwheels

most rearends have a number/letter code stamped on the right(passanger)side axel tube. that will tell you what ratio it is... i dont know of any sites off the top of my head but im sure there are some out there to crossrefernce, if not get me the numbers and ill see if i can pull them up in my catalog.... and if you can knowig what yr modle it came out of helps a ton.

thanks for the tip , forgot about those numbers on the axle , i will look those up , it will be hard to find out the year from the axle all i know i have a choice of two : one is from a mobile home the other from a pickuptruck there both dismanteled years ago .
