Will most paint stores tint the primer and if so I heard thru the grape that Red tinted primer is a arm and a leg? Any truth to this?? Need a gallon before Reso so I figured I would ask.

what color red? red oxide is fairly inexpensive but if you want fire engine red that might get pricy about 100-150 a gallon, maybe

The PPG DP74 is a red oxide sealer. You might also want to look at the hot rod flatz colors at www.kustomshop.com.

Check this site out.Hot Rod FlatzIts flat paint, at about the cost of primer for a 'Gallon Kit' with all the reducers you need. Its flat single stage paint, and you can sand it and paint or prime over it. With some tinted primers, I've heard they have to be sanded entirely off.

They have like 3 different reds. Some nice colors. They even have a flat metallic red.
