2003 fuel tank dragging

Ihave a 2003 s10 and i need to get the fuel tank off the ground so i can drag. I have to put blockson it right now to drag. I do not have room in my bed its all done and I really dont want to change it right now.

i'm not an s-10 guy but i can recall hearing a buddie of mine say that you can cut up the crossmembers and move the tank up an inch or two without any major modification. back in the day before i had a fuel cell, i re-built my two gas tank crossmembers and had them up higher on the frame than stock, i moved my gas tank up 1" in the front and 3" in the rear and never cut my floor or bed. my toyota tank hung down low in the rear and i moved it up over the frame.

i have put the cross member from suicide doors in it and it still hangs to dam low. I also cant spend that much money for a custom tank from devent. Im doing a major rebuild next year so i just want to drag now.

what part of the tank hags down below the frame the front part or back? but i see u said u got the crossmember from suicide doors, but did u redrill the holes up an inch in the for for the front crossmember?

its the front of the tank and what do you meen by one inch higher or what u meen by drilling it. I bolted it in were the old one came out of.

there is a crossmember in the middle of the tanks which the tanks sits on and its bolted to the frame, and u need to re drill all the hole up one inch, and the should fix your prob

yeah take out the bolts and then redrill all the holes an inch higher, its a bitch im am working on mine, your prolly going to have to take off your bed, so drill all new holes

so the top cross memeber is ok right. I can get a angel drill in there if i have to. ill check it out.

yeah the top crossmember is ok from suicide doors, just redrill all the bolt holes and u should be fine
