How did you get the paint to stick under the hood? Dont you have to knock the clear off of it? I am asking cuz I dont know not because I ma dick...well I can be a dick but not this time, honest.

All you have to do as abrade the surface with 600 grit, you dont have to knock all the clear off. Under the hood there are a bunch of places that you cant get to with 600 on a sponge, since this car is brand new, you can use a gray scotch brite in those areas.

taking a vehicle apart to paint it = +1000000000 bonus points.

That is the way Dwight, looks good.

That is just badass! My wife has one and we are just getting started on it. Nothing as in depth as what your doing for a while though! Can't wait to see it done!

Ready to paint. Everything is re-installed and gapped just a little bit.

Got the paint on today. BC02 silver base, pagan gold candy on top, faded down to tangerine candy on the bottom.

Now on to matching the fade in the jambs, reclearing and sanding and buffing. Reassembly in a few days.

Paint looks VERY nice- it should stand out in the crowd of stickered-up Scions!
Matching the fade in the jambs sounds like NO fun at all- good luck, and keep us posted with pics!
