i went to the one in PA. great school. i got a lot out of the automotive. Their Chassis fab class is awsome. I learned a shit ton in that class. Only down side is that the town sucked Donkey balls. its the top automotive school out there. definitely look into it

Im not saying its not worth it. Im sure it has helped someone get their foot in the door. Most shops I know of look for working experience not school experience though.

actually your alittle off on that. Every place i applied after i got out of school cared more about the school i went to than the experience i had. School looks VERY good on a resume

I am a Junior in HS and plan on going to the Laramie, WY campus for Automotive Technology. Haven't decided on a ASM degree yet. Is it really worth the 26K to go to WyoTech vs me going to a local Minnesota tech school for free? I really like WyoTechs program, but need to know if it's worth the money. I plan on going to work at a Dealership after College. Not anything specialized, for now.

i personally went to UTI, and i know of a few people that went to Wyo-Tech. If you dont know ANYTHING about cars, then school maybe right for you, depending on what you are going to go for.if you are going for mechanical knowledge, it wont really do you any good. They only teach you the basics, and you dont learn anything manufacture specific. And 99.9% of the dealerships will still make you start out changing oil... so in that instance it wont be worth it.but if you are going for body repair, and you dont have ANY where else to go... then it might be worth it. Most body shops that my friends work at would prefer training someone fresh from the start. That way when they try to train you their way you will pay attention, and not think that you know it all. When i got my job at a honda dealer, they didnt ask anything about my schooling, they just asked if i knew anything about cars.
