what are the steps in welding it in. like where and how much. thanks

Where and how much?? I dont get it.

You remove the stock tailgate and bumper
Reinforce the back of the box with some square tube to prevent the bedsides from flexing and cracking your bodywork.
Grind the paint off the edges where the tailgate and pan would be.
Tack the skin in place, then just keep tacking until its welded in..Grind the welds and then bodywork it...

when you tack it do you ever put down a bead... like a inch or so or just tacks

sheetmetal is usually tacks. if you run a bead and heat the metal up to fast it will warp causing more headache then anything.

should i weld it from the back?

LIKE JOEL SAID JUST TACK IT BRO.......NO U DONT HAVE TO WELD IT FROM THE BACK....WHERE DID THE SKIN COME FROM

i would weld it from the back and the front if you dont mind spending the extra time. once you grind down the out side welds you still have a full weld on teh back side. making it that much more strong. not nessisary. but never hurts
