dont waste your time w/ fiberglass mat etc unless your shaving holes were stuff went. clean the dash w/ thinner, then wax and grease remover then spray some adhesion promotor on there and a very good hi build primer. repeat primer till its slick then paint it. if the dash is soft tho, mite have to use spray polyestor(sprayable bondo) on it.

Alright.. I think you really need to give more information... When I think of fiberglassed dash, door panels and interior I think of 100% custom interior. Not smoothing out the stock plastic and painting it... When you say putty I have no clue what you mean. I cant think of anything you would do interior wise with putty that would do things the right way....

a product called slick sand is better than primer,it is about 65 dollars a gallon but is great for smoothing plastic

Exactlly, two different worlds there, need more info, smoothing and painting your dash is just sandpaper, filler-primer, and paint away, with some know how and they right tools, you could do the majority of it. glassing is a differt story, alot of work involved, and if a shop will do full fiberglass dash, pannels, and pillars for 1100. take they up on it. Cause if you ask the guys on here that have done glass interiors, it's a crapload of work. let us know with more info.

slick sand is a primmer its polyestor....like bagged85 said its almost a sprayable bondo. but you should not paint over it becouse like mud the paint my ring out in it..so just use normal primer over it. if you have a real soft dash you can put gelcoat on it then slicksand.
