Well I went to autozone tonight and they gave me this code, P0171 System too lean Bank 1

Fuel injectors??? Donno what that is supposed to mean, anyone work at a gm dealership????

It has 55000 miles and don't know if I ever put plugs wires, etc on her but I did change the fuel filter once. Never put tranny filter in either but will do soon.

Any suggestions??

i will check all data tommorow almost sounds liek a cat / o2 sensor problem
fuel filters should be changed roughly every 30k FYI LOL wow i learned somethign

Did you ever check the tranny? I know the mileage of your truck is kind of premature, but check to see if it is still good. I went to pick up another project and going up a big hill, the truck would not go anywhere. It would rev up but not put the power to the ground. Turns out I fried the tranny. The only way to get me back home, I had to put tranny fluid in right before the hills to keep it cool. I drove the truck around town for the next two weeks before getting the tranny rebuilt, and it worked just fine like nothing ever happen.

hmm never thoguht of that one

Well it runs fine unloaded and while it was acting funny it would not rev up past 3500-4000 rpms. Normally if I would floor it pulling hills loaded I could red line it if I wanted to. So it seems like something is telling it not to rev higher, lack of fuel, computer glitch, sensors, something is wierd. It has been reprogrammed to correct tire size but I didn't do much for engine tuning as I can't afford to run premium in it.

What leans and richens the motor is the O2 sensors. They couldnt check each bank to see if the voltage was reading right on the O2 sensors? Most good readers can telll you all that stuff. If the cats are stopped up, It may cause the O2 sensors to read funny.

read this but it is saying check mass air flow sensor and for vaccum leaks

if the o2 sensor get's to hot the ecm will add fuel to cool it if the o2 is to cold it will lean it out to heat it up
do you have a o2 sensor before the cat and after the cat (the one before the cat is called the upstream sensor and the one that is after the cat is the down stream)

if your thinking the cat's pluged up your downstream sensor isn't getting hot and your upstream is getting to hot

and a confused o2 sensor can screw with your MAF and your MAP sensors

I'm starting to learn how these computers work and I don't have one of them fancy gizmoe's that tell you what its doing
