z the frame

if im going to be bagging my truck on 20s. im going to be takeing all the fenders out front and back fire wall tubes and was wondering should i z the frame does it make a big diffrence?

you only ''z'' when you body drop.

Umm no. You need to Z the frame around the firewall to lay full frame on yotas, since the engine crossmember hangs like 1.5" lower then the rest of the frame. You'll have to drop the frame horns the amount of the Z, plus the amount of the BD if you are BDing it as well.

We are doing a 92 with no Z right now. Sits with a bit of a lean to the back. It lays engine crossmember on 18s with no drop spindles or tubs. If you Z it you'll also need bigger firewall tubs up front then you would just laying crossmember, but on 20s you need them regardless. It will also mean you'll have to mod the steering shaft from the firewall to the steering box. If you know what you are doing, then Z it for sure. Our customer just doesnt want to pay for it.

exactly....zee it to lay flat and if you do body drop it will save on some head room. you also have to redo the tranny crossmember then it will lay true frame and that equals less of a body drop.

if you are experienced enough you can do it like they just did in the mini truckin mag and that will save the hood b/c it doesnt raise the motor.

Yea you have to Z the frame to lay flat. You can do that or section the crossmember and move your steering up. I did it this way. It doesnt raise your motor, but its really easy to drop your motor anyways. Its a bolt on deal and can be done in a couple hours.

just cut your legs off at the knees, then bodydrop it below the frame. I did that.....my body lays flat even though my frames off, then just buy some of Twisted Miniz engine mounts, they are awesome.

I didnt like basketball anyways.
