hey guys i just got my escalade wheels and i went to put them on for getting that i had read they had to be bored out to fit. anyways i noticed the little tabs on the brake rotar were hitting the inside of the wheel? now what do you guys do, can u grind the tabs off? and if so is this the best way or do i bore out the wheel? i measured ti to bor it out and it seems a little close to the actual studs. What is the best way of doing it and how do i do it? also the back wheels i think i have to bore out a bit as well what do i do about this?

any help would be appreciated!

fuck all that taking them to a machine shop.... i am a machinest and i took a die grinder to my front hubs, there are 3 tabs, grind them smooth and ur ready to rock... i rolled around on 4 different sets of wheels in the 5 years i owned my 720 and never had a problem. Good luck.

Find a set of old lug nuts, and put them on the lugs.  Then take your grinder and grind the tabs off.  The lug nuts protect the lugs while you grind.   Just keep checking them, and be careful.....Take your time.  I did mine instead of boring out the wheels.  I rolled for many years and never had any problems.  I hate boring the wheels.....I had it done once by a machine shop and never was able to get the wheels balanced right.    Forget modifying the wheels for the truck.....Modify the truck for the wheels.

Deffinitley pony up a few bucks and have a machine shop bore them out to the proper dimension, this way the wheels will remain hub centric which is what you want. You will notice that the stock nissan wheels fit tight on the center of the hub when you remove them The engineers that built the truck did it this way for a reason, you should too. In my neck of the woods we usually pay about 100 or so to get a set done at our local machine shop. You can always ask a tire and wheel shop that is local to you to see who they use if you can't find someone to do it on your own. Good luck with the project man.
