ok my question pertains to the suspension pictured above. do i need to keep the bar that is going from the crossmembers on the front corners of the frame to the lower control arm or not. are they there to keep the lower control arm in place or are they some sort of anti sway mechanism?

if i need to keep them is there another way to keep the LCA from moving back and forth so that i can get rid of that thing. i took it off on my truck but am not sure if i should put it back on before i install the bag brackets.

thats all,

Yes you need to keep it on there unless you buy or make some tubular arms or make some like Seth did. That bar holds the lower arms in place since they are only attached in one spot.

Here is a decent pic of how seth made it so he could get rid of those bars.

The only thing that I would do differently is to make that bushing adjustable. The castor is adjusted by the strut rod and if you build an arm like Seth did your castor adjustment will be limited to what you can get out of the top arm. In most cases there wouldn't be any problems, but on the off chance there is, it would be a real pain the ass to get right.

does the bar have to be bent or can you just make it straight and put the heim joint on at an angle?

also, can i install the old radius rod on there to bag it and then do that after i have the bag mounts installed?

also, what diameter tubing did you use?

I would think that the bar end you add would have to be on the same plane as the factory bushing or you might have some binding issues. I dont think I heim joint would be the right thing to use in this situation.I dont see a problem with bagging it with the strut rod in place, then switching it to A-arms after..the LCA is gonna stay in the same spot.

I used a jig to keep the pivot points in line with eachother so keep it from binding. It travels with no problems.

do you mount it on the same bolt when you build them seth, or do you make it with something going through them all the way to keep the pivot point proper then make a new bracket. kinda like a 4link end tab?
