I just got word that they got it idling and running smoothly. No more cut outs in the fuel. However, I guess during the 2 days it sat in the parking lot their, the leak in the clutch master got bad enough to pretty much empty it and make the cluthc useless. So they have to fill it and bleed it to get it working so they can run it on the smog machine. Then I get to replace the SOB when I get it back. So theres probably a 1/2 hour to an hours labor charge, lol. Should have replaced it before bringing it to them. Oh well.

Hey im not sure about Cali but when we need to make carb'd vehicle pass in WA, we take some methenol and do a 1/3 ratio with gas its pretty spendy i think but its been awhile, and also its always been with chev motors not Yotas. How I do it in WA is get my car registered in a city that doesn't do emissions...like Doug's lol.

It's good to hear it sounds like you finally found a place that can fix it Seth, I hate working on carbs too.

I gotta go pick it up today because the clutch master is fucked and its undriveable, therefore untestable. They wanted $300 plus parts to change it because of the location.

That sucks that you coulnt fix it in there parking lot.

Well I went to pick it up. They said the clutch don;t work at all and they had to push it around..

So I drove it on the trailer. Lol. Clutch works just fine. So I figured, what the hell, and took it to Richs smog shop on the way home. Tried 3 different times to pass. Finally ran it in 3rd gear with the air cleaner open and a pack of ice on top of it and it passed just fine. The shop didn't tell me what they did, but it basically looks like they just rewired the fuel cutoff solenoid.

They also fucked my fenders up pretty bad. They pushed one out so bad that it put a crease up through the bodyline.

But hey, I passed. Got to go to work now, then unload it when I get back and go to the DMV tomorrow and get my other two tickets signed off.

I'll take a picture of the certificate when I get back, to prove ti actually passed.
