YEEEEESSSS. now your getting it, it's the best way to learn, and i just looked on www.Car-part.com and the cheapest trunk lids i can find in the northwest are 65 bones

lol I know i am... Do i need to run gas with my welder do tackle this job?? or can i just use wire? What wire will be best

up untill a couple of months ago i had never used flux core, and because flux create a ton of heat, don't think it will work great for sheetmetal. .024 for wire and get on the bottle. Other people will have they're preference. just look around the body work forum and ask questions.

flux is crap.......... gotta be carful at taking it to a body shop..... its custom some place dont know wtf to do... i seen where they did door's and they tacked it 5 times and glassed it.... guess wut it cracked.... so just be carefull

i say go for it. that is how i learn. you just have to rake your time and let the welds cool down in between tacks. i the only way to learn is by doing

On trunks like that it is best to cut off the rear skin and reskin.......
