I priced out about five different options for disc brakes and ending up getting new ford nine inch axle ends welded on along with the axle shortening. These different axle ends gave a way to eliminate my c-clips (shit setup) and made it really cheap for a wilwood brake kit because i now had a common axle flange to bolt to. I paid $1,100 for Moser axles, housing shortening, Wilwood four piston brake kit (super nice looking) and the new axle flange ends. The other kits and options i was pricing out (keep in mind it was only a brake kit i was pricing out) were between $480-$790 and were no where near as nice as my wilwoods i have now. That was on a cutlass rear axle but i'm sure a mazda axle has just as oddball of a flange from the factory as mine so maybe look at doing something like that especially if you plan on shortening your axle anyways. Just my two cents.
