recently ive done 2 cells so lets see if my memory serves correctly.

there should be 2 plugs on the top of the OE sending unit/pump plate. one is not used, it has to do with vapor stuff.

the one used has 4 wires. (this is from memeory know) the wires are grey, green, black and purple. the green and purple go to the sending unit. hook one to each side of the new unit, if it doesnt read correctly reverse the wires. the black is a ground, and the grey is power to the pump. (PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK WITH A TEST LIGHT OR METER)

on both ive used that exact pump and havent had any issues with sputtering or anything, and one was a v-6. make sure no lines are crimped or anything. good luck

hey man, did you try reversing the wires? it may be an issue of sending unit ohmage and gauge ohmage not being correct. both ive done i havent hooked up the sending unit, so i couldnt tell you first hand. sorry bro
