i just got a 96 2wd blazer that is lowered pretty good in the front. i can see the passenger side sitting on the bumpstop slightly and the driver side is about an inch off. the nice part is the sway bar is missing. the driver side has a bit of the end link still there which is hacked off. why would someone do this? it steers like crap and the front tires are bald. i bagged an s10 a couple years back and i remember it layed out and the swaybar was never taken off.

for some one who doesn't know what they are doing. there's just some people out there that shouldn't work on cars or trucks. the only reason i could see pulling it off is if you are going to bag it with side to side.

I agree there are only two reasons someone would ditch the antiroll bar. Hittin the sides or trying to get more lift/drop out of it. either way it isnt worth taking it out.

if its hacked off. ill bet your springs were cut also. making the truck sit uneven, if not done correctly. if a torch was used most likely thats why its siting funny. best way to cut a spring if you have to, is to use a cut off wheel. but better would be a sawsall or hack saw.

When we bag the front of an S-10, we always remove the swaybar. The reason is becase we use Firestone 224c (2600lb.) bags and they are too big to use the stock sway bar in the original position. BUT! We always separate the valves and always use good shocks.

As a side note- In many cases, the factory uses swaybars to induce understeer. Strangely enough the end with the largest swaybar, in relation to the weight, will loose traction first. One good reason not to run a 2-link, the rear-end housing acts like a HUGE swaybar.

^ this guy knows his shit. but as a first hand experence. id rather use a swaybar in the front with having a 2 link in the rear. only because it helps keep the rear tires on the ground when going up driveways. i have it out at first and at times the one tire would spin a bit going up any steep angled driveways. but with it in it reduces it. and i know it puts more stress on everything else. but it does reduce the tires from pulling. with it out im sure theres less stress on the frame because it finds the weakest link. and that would be the front corner with the most weight on it. let me know if im wrong though.

Absolutely! If you have one end of your suspension that has a lot of roll-resistance (ie. a 2-link) then you would want the other end to have as much as possible to keep the vehicle as ballanced as possible.

Good call Ryan-
