i assume when you guys are removing the sway bar you are using tubular control arms also? providing more stability? i can see on a straight show truck or maybe just mobbin around town draggin but cornering when coming off the highway without it just sux.

Chavo- It can be done with the swaybar in place, but I have never left them in place.

Jason- I never use tubular control arms of any type, most of them screw up the stock geometry and/or are un-necessary. If the front bags are isolated and have good shocks, there is very little sway. The trick is just that though, good shocks and isolated bags- an absolute must!

So what you are telling me is that you would rather have a good looking part that dosen't work as well as the stock "ugly" part?

Or mabey you are one of the few guys that are willing to spend the extra money on a part that both looks good AND works well...

I thought that you guys had all died off.

However you look at it, the stock geometry works best for a daily-driveable truck on air. If you correct the geometry to work when lowered, it will screw everything up at lifted heights. The geometry change at lowered levels is tollerable, but the opposite change at higher levels should be avoided at all costs. Positive camber is not cool, wears tires bad and drives like SHIT!

I have tubular arms, no sway bar, 8 valves and no shocks in the front, and I think my truck rides and corners pretty good. The rear has shocks but not the front. I do want to put shocks in the front because I think it was help on the bouncing I get every once and a while. Other than that mine rides and drives like a dream.

Max, I tried telling people you can lay out a silverado on 26" wheels with stock control arms. Then I see threads on what control arms to use to lay out a silverado on 24" wheels. Maybe there are magic control arms out there that are worth the $. But just so you all know. Most tubular control arms are built using the factory arm as a jig.

My arms are 2 inches shorter than stock and use flipped chevy balljoints so mine aren't included in that most above.^^^^
