My name is DJ, im 17 and im kinna new to the truckin scene and i want to learn how to do all the custom work like bagging and body dropping. Is there anyone in the Phoenix area that could hook me up with a job at a shop where i could learn the trade or is there anyone that would be willing to teach me how. I can weld and ive worked with metal before, i have a passion for trucks and i want to be able to build custom trucks.

Start by going to local hang outs and shows to get to know who is around here. You have a truck that you are going to build or are you still looking? Good luck and welcome to the madness.

I'm not close enough to help you, but I was in your same situation about 13 months ago. Same age, same situation. I did a lot of research, and bought a truck and learned on my own. You can really learn a lot by taking a truck apart.

I figured i would be best buying a cheap truck and experimenting. What do you guys think i should start out with?

s10's have a lot of parts readily available. Might try one of those. I've heard of them being pretty easy to work with. I'm waiten on a welder and i'm gonna cut up my mazda i think. Good luck.

Yeah i started on here when i was 14 with my first truck, so i know how you feel bro...

Study study study...if you have access to a custom shop, DEF stop in and watch or pick their brains if it's cool with them

I bagged and bodydropped my first mazda when i was 15, all from pictures and talkin to people on here, i'd never seen a bodydrop or bag setup in person

Just stay humble, people are more than willing to help you out on here as long as you don't start thinkin you know everything, then no one will help you

I'd reccommend a mazda or nissan, maybe a toyota. They're all pretty simple to bag and even bodydrop, once you get the idea...

Or you could buy an S10 and bolt everything on, jus depends what you wanna do
