with uniballs, it just seems like the old heim joint 4 links to me. If you don't grease the damn thing every other week, it's going to squeak and eventually wear the joint out. & what are you gonna do if they put sand down on the roads in winter and you're forced to drive your bagged ride?

Try mounting a balljoint the opposite way than they are normally mounted. Doesn't work so hot. That is the beauty of the uniball, the ability to mount horizontally for unlimited compression and droop travel. Plus the unibal has unsurpassed strength over a ball joint being that it is mounted in double shear. I love uniballs!

I use hiem joints on all my trucks and customers trucks in our 4 links, A frames and steering arms and we have had zero problems, we use a teflon lined self lubricating hiem to avoid the problems that can occur with the non lubricated steel on steel hiems. Can anyone tell me who sells uniballs in Cali? Im from New Zealand and havnt been able to find anyone down here that sells them so am going to have to ship them from the states, any info would be great.

uniball is like having a sand trap under your truck.Works good for show stuff though.

explain please

Whats to keep dirt out of your thousand dollar arms?

Is dirt that big of a deal with uniballs? I'm just asking.

I can see how it could cause a problem, but does it really cause a problem? If it did then why would prerunners run them, since they are made to go offroading?

prerunners use uniballs instead of balljoints?

Dirt in the a spherical bearing is not an issue. Its just as much of a dirt magned as a greasy balljoint and boot. Whipe the top and bottom of the spherical bearing off once in a while and your gold.

I like the spherical bearing / uniball because of its stregnth over a balljoint, and the fact that it looks a ton better. IDK how often you guys are replacing balljoints and having to run to the store to replace them....but by the sounds of that type of complaint, way to often. If you keep regular maintinence on your vehicle and check for regular wear on thing like your balljoint or uniball, you wont ever be in a pinch to need one.

I think it's funny when I hear about how crappy spherical joints are. If they were so bad, I don't think that there would be ball-joint upgrade kits to convert your ball-joints to uniballs for LMSC race cars. Or maybe the off-road guys should convert everything over to ball-joints and eurethane. Anybody that has had problems with spherical bearings has either purchased cheap parts, installed them improperly or has been given bad information.

If you use the JMX or RSM series heims with the teflon liners, you shouldn't ever have to lube them or have any concerns with dirt. The far to commonly used CM series stuff should be avoided, with or without teflon.

You can buy uniball stuff from HM-Engineering.com as well as heims, bungs, misalignments...

so much angle of misalignment do u want....i found these uniballs that are rebuildable and greaseable just not as much misalignment....i personally like the teflon, but rebuild makes things more cost efficent
