i would pay someone to do it. it should be relatively cheap if it doesnt need a lot of head work. i payed 1400 for mine to be rebuilt from intake to pan, and mine has a little head work done i believe. oversized valves and bigger guides or some shit.

rebuilding is expensive, you would spend almost as much at the machine shop as a good 30k mile JDM engine would cost.

machine costs for me was the cheapest part....

With those reman motors I dont trust any of the companies that build them. They sell them cheap because the use cheap parts 99% of the time. Just how it works today. Noone does good work on the sole intentions of doing good work. They do good work when you pay 4x as much as the cheap stuff.

I would personally rebuild. I don't know what you want to spend, but thats the route I went and I have a motor I could have gotten a "running" motor for 300 dollars.

My whole point is, even with 30k on them....thats a LOT of wear and tear if it was beat up when driven.

Dont the rebuilt engines come with 0 miles on them? i might get mine rebuilt i dont know but how long does it take for someone to rebuild ur engine. I would prefer to spend a bit to get the job done right.

the JDM engines I am talking about are from japanese market cars/trucks. Japan has really high registration and inspection schedules on older cars, so people junk their cars and buy new ones because it is frequently cheaper than registering the old one. The motors are in great physical and mechanical shape, and they come with a warranty against DOA. Mine came from a dealer in TX, it was 550 (no core) and is still in great shape.
