Mono leafs are not bad, if you do them correctly. Brothers Trucks sales mono leaf set for $479.95 a pair. They come in std or reverse eye. std= 4" drop and reverse eye= 6" drop. I've never had people complain about axle rap. The ride is just like a lowered truck.

He's not talking about buying one hes talking about running a mono leaf on the stock leafs. OEM leafs were not designed to do that. I do not reccomend running a mono leaf setup, they get bad axle wrap which is hard on your drive tran and I have seen them with snapped leafs also. I don't care if so and so did it or has had it on his truck for so many years without problems and bla bla bla.... Its not safe, do it right and do it once.

On that truck the springs are OVER the axle. You need to flip them to get a 6" drop. DJM, McGaughts, Bell Tech all sell a flip kit. Factory they come with like 6-8 leaves, you can pull a few, but i'd leave 2-3 and the overload (which is the shortest of the pack)..

I just want my truck down lower. Its a beater that I would rather not stick alot of cash into just because its a beater. I dont haul nothing, all I do is drive it from home to work (about 15min each way) I have other toys with air and juice but never have i just lowered a vehicle, so not sure how to do the flip kit or seperate leaf springs or anything. the front coils were heated by a buddy of mine, 4.5in in the front and just want the back level or so. any and all help is appreciated.

you have to mount your leafspring axle brackets on the bottom side of your axle then get some lowering blocks to put on it. it should drop about 2-4 inches

^^^ What he said...

Unbolt the leafsprings from the axel.

Put them under the Axel with ?" Blocks in between and use much larger U-bolts to put it all back together "upside-down" or "opposite" the way they came apart.

Walla! Zero Ground Clearance! Ah, Low Life

you'll need a spring perch on the axle b/c what the hell is the knob on the block gonna go into if you dont have the hole in the perch to secure it? you gotta cut off your perch and move it to the bottom of the axle before you think about moving the leaves.
