i dont mean to be disrespectful when I ask this, but what is the story and reasoning behind building this truck? I must have missed it when the thread was made, or don't remember.

The work looks bad ass though. Keep up the good work!

The truck was being built by Jason Scott Childress. Unfortunately Scott passed away earlier this year. As a tribute his NR family and friends are continuing to build his truck and finish it in memory of him.

i always loved that s10, never did talk to scott though. glad to see another mini getting built for the right reason. sad that he wont get to drag in it. im sure he is proud of what everyone is doing though. the frame looks absolutely sick. good luck guys, maybe a little later i can contribute a minor amount of cash to this build as I always loved looking at his truck

The skull on the cab was actually a wild hair Scott had one day, and we put it on just for shock value.....it seemed to work pretty well. It was cut from 3M engineering grade vinyl which is what speed limit signs are made of, so at night it was reflective. The new paint job will not have a skull, but it will be an attention getter - i'll leave it at that!

Grant, we are not looking for handouts by any means, but anyone willing to contribute money or parts can send myself or rockboy a message and we will get you in touch with Scott's sister Alicia. She has a Paypal account and a bank account set up strictly for finishing Scott's truck. I can promise you that anything sent for the truck, money or parts, will get put into the truck and not someone's beer fund.

I would like to help some way, as I have deffinately seen this truck numerous times in pictures, and always loved the way it looked. I will see what I can do once all my tax stuff comes in. Won't be much, but if you can PM me with a short list of things that would make the build a little easier, or quicker, or even more professional, it would be awesome. Maybe some laser cut brackets or something.

Hey James, i know he had the extra set, but i'm not sure if they are at Cris' shop or at Scott's parent's house. The extra set were the BYC ones I powdercoated chrome a few years ago I think. I can check with his sister and see if she knows. You might try hitting Shawn up too. He may know something.
